Bucket Fillers

Jana Payne is making her presence known down the 3rd grade hallway. It is no doubt she has the work ethic to fit in well with our high performing team. She is here, a lot, and working hard to prepare her classroom for students. Welcome to our CRE Family, Jana!!!

Nancy Brashers, Whitney Mosley, and Daralyn Scroggins have stepped up to serve their team well. As grade reps, a lot of details fall on their shoulders. They were troopers to step up during the leadership team meeting and begin to take action, immediately. We are in good hands with these ladies as members of our leadership team. #heroesintraining

Nurse Leigh Ann is already coming through for us and she hasn’t even reported back to work yet. What a gift it is to reach out to her as an expert in her field with a request and her reply to be so pleasant, prompt, and student focused. You make us better, Nurse Leigh Ann!!

I am thrilled to spend some time with our new CRE teachers at workshop 101, visit with friends at the article club meeting, and check in on our PBIS team as they prep for the year ahead. I will have to find time to check on the progress on the playground 3 or 4 times as well. It is a busy day here at CRE!!

Let me know what we can do to help you in the days ahead! Here to serve!

Building Update

Jeff and our custodial team have the building ready and can be accessed and walked on as needed. Please be cautious when moving items across the floor and don’t hesitate to ask for assistance to avoid undoing their hard work. Classrooms are being filled with chairs and desks to accommodate current number of students and few more just for fun. There will continue to be need for adjustment with furniture pieces. As the need for subtle shifts arise please email Jeff if it is something you need assistance with beyond your individual or team efforts. Remember when in need of purging or acquiring items a building email is a powerful tool.

Michael Gones created an efficient means for the teachers here at CRE to have a voice in technology needs in the classroom. I appreciate his extra efforts in creating the all you need to know, back to school ppt. to help each of us prep for the start of school. Nice work and great communication, Mike. Thank you!

Michelle

What a GLORIOUS FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!! Really, it was smooth start to finish from my perspective. Thank you for all the preparations and details you have attended to to insure that students had a positive experience. I think one of our new teachers captured the “wave” of back to school best with this quote: After I met the kids, everything I have been working toward has a PURPOSE!!! This really says it all… Thank you CRE for sticking with this for year 2 and committing to making our building shine for students.

Enjoy this fun video when you have a minute, it’s worth your time. A Message to Teachers

Thanks to Ginger Conner we have another option for a printed Routing Sheet. I saw this on her wall and thought the format may be handy for others as well. Thanks for sharing, Ginger. Cedar Ridge Elementary Staff_1415_gc

Bucket Fillers: Wanted to thank Michelle Brown for coming to the rescue by making copies of books that myself and Nathan’s coordinator both needed in order for her to braille and me to teach! She is awesome! ~ Melissa Harris
Jeff Gaar jumped into action and helped us prep the cafeteria for our Principal Presentations, when he may have been left out of the loop. Thank you for your flexibility, Jeff.
IMG_20140820_083350406 I realize you may have to zoom in, but it is worth the read. This article is inspiring and refreshing for educators to understand how most others view our profession and our desire to serve.

August is here and so is back to school planning and prep. Many of you have been scurrying around preparing classrooms and hallway displays. This time of year is always exciting and brings with it the endless possibilities that come with a new school year and a class roster of students to leave your imprint on as you pour into them as individuals. I am here for each of you as I am for our school families, please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can be of service to you in any way.

We have returned to regular business hours so our office is open M-F 7:30-4:30.

Summer Updates

Hello Friends…

It has been nice seeing so many of you in and around the building today. It has been a great day at TIP with our new team members! We are looking forward to four full days of new staff induction and learning. I hope to see many of you on Thursday at the technology institute!

There are still a number of items on our To Do List in order to be ready for school to start, but I am proud of the progress that has been made and the overall commitment from all departments to pull together to finalize building preparations. Luke has jumped right in and is taking good care of needs that arise as well as attending to the details of new building set up. Thanks, Luke!

Back To School Documents:

I am providing links to important documents in this blog post. These are documents that you may need to reference throughout the school year for various reasons. You can move them to your desktop if you choose to do that, but they will always be available via the blog.

Disclaimer: There is always a possibility that we may need to make further adjustments and changes as the start of the school year nears. I will update with final copies as changes occur.

Bucket Fillers:

I had a conference with a great family to day who could not say enough great things about Ms. Pardeck. She has obviously built relational trust with this family that enables them to fully trust our district in providing a quality educational experience for their children. They genuinely valued the relationship she had with their son and was thrilled he was returning to CRE for his 3rd grade year. Great Job, Sara !

Donna Schisler dropped by for something unrelated to what I asked of her. I appreciate her willingness to assist with any random request. Thanks for the extra set of eyes, Donna 🙂

See you all soon.
